About this event
This is M.O.M (Million Ooman March) JAMAICAN women walking with purpose.
We march for our mothers and daughters... We march for our wives. We march for our sisters and aunts... We march for our lives.

This public advocacy is in support of battered women living in silence and act as a support to the families of women and girls lost to violence. THIS IS NOT AN EVENT AGAINST MEN and as such welcome our men in support of the March. COME DRESSED AS YOU WOULD LIKE or stay tuned with the event page for "Ooman United" shirts soon on sale for a reasonable cost.
This is also an advocacy in support of our female leaders and female industry heads as we encourage them to capitalize on this opportunity and contact us or support the march by including their team in the fight.
This is a non class related event and is a public platform to include women from Dunkirk to Cherry Gardens, Montego Bay to Nanny Town. The efforts of this movement is to include women from all races, class systems, household, churches, women's group and communities.
WHAT ARE WE MARCHING FOR?
-
Women and girls that have died as a result of domestic or social violence and will act as a public support from families and friends of the deceased. (Bring your photos of girls and women you have lost through social and domestic violence)
-
The platform to request Government intervention in the efforts of creating ACTIVE and functional telephone hotlines for battered women, general health & wellness concerns, family issues and counseling.
-
To fund active JAMAICAN foundations including -Ooman (Our Means & Needs) who will act as an active local advocacy group in the efforts to provide personal and safety services for women in need.
-
To include the efforts of the female Government leaders in the pursuit of confronting and educating JAMAICAN women and men on important social and domestic issues.
-
PROVIDE A UNIFIED PLATFORM TO BUILD TRUST AND ACTIVE SUPPORT TO JAMAICAN WOMEN. We believe that IF EVERY OOMAN IS OUT TOGETHER, THEN THAT IS ONE LESS WOMAN LOST.
