2025 IS THE 31ST ANNIVERSARY OF KOOL DEADWOOD NITES!



2025 INFORMATION


 * Your vehicle must be a ’73 or older to register. Registration is not capped and walk-ups are welcome.
 * Pre-registration forms will be mailed in May 2025 to those who registered a car in 2024 and additional requests. We will continue to mail forms through mid-August 2025. If you would like one, please call 605-578-1876. [tel:16055781876] Walk-up registration will be available at the event. The number of cars is not capped.
 *  To receive the early bird discount the registration fee must be paid/postmarked by August 1, 2025.
 * An additional day of activities, live entertainment, show & shine and registration on Tuesday, August 19!
 * Car registration cost: $90 postmarked before August 1, 2025; $120 after August 1, 2025
 * Free Parking & Shuttle: Shuttles operate on Thursday, August 21; Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23. Parking shuttle from Lead, pickups at the Lead-Deadwood High School (320 South Main Street, Lead) and Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center (160 West Main Street) and drops off at the Deadwood Fire Station (737 Main Street). Operating times for the Lead shuttle will be 2 pm – 3am. Ride the shuttle from Cedar Rose Spa (1 mile north of Deadwood, 11842 Hwy 14a) to the Deadwood Welcome Center (501 Main Street). Operating times for the spa shuttle are 11am to 10pm each day. No trailer parking at shuttle sites. No overnight parking at Cedar Rose Spa.
 * Registration for 2025 Kool Deadwood Nites will be held throughout the event at TBD.

Kool Deadwood Nites

The sculpture is illuminated nightly, year-round.
During the summer months join a park ranger in the park's outdoor amphitheater for an inspirational 45-minute program focusing on the presidents, patriotism and the nation's history. Beginning with a ranger talk, this program continues with the film "Freedom: America's Lasting Legacy" (captioned) and culminates with the lighting of the memorial. Program held nightly late May through the end of September.


May 24th - August 10th program starts at 9:00 PM.


August 11th - September 30th program starts at 8:00 PM.

Black Hills Farmers Market Spring/Summer

Experience an Old West Shootout aboard the 1880 Train! Conflicts between lawmen and bad guys were an important part of the story of the Wild West, and here’s your chance to experience a recreation of history and legend right on the spot. Sunday evening shootouts begin at the Hill City Station where danger is in the air! It's a good thing the sheriff is in town!


Note: All Old West Shootout riders must depart from Hill City at 5:00 pm. Shootout special event trains cannot be combined with Keystone departures or earlier departures. The shootout performance occurs alongside the middle of the stopped train about halfway between Hill City and Keystone. The train ride to Keystone resumes once the performance is completed!

It all begins on May 28th and continues through August 27th (with the exception of August 6th for the Rally).


 * May 28th – Play Some Petty – a great local Tom Petty cover band!
 * June 4 – Guilty Pleasures Orchestra – featuring SD Rock N Roll Hall of Fame members and former members of Rude Awakening that used to rock the Saloon #10!
 * June 11 – The Rathco – you know these youngsters that kill it!
 * June 18 – Maygen & The Bird Watcher – recently nominated for Entertainer of the Year for the Midwest Country Music Awards!
 * June 25 – Tristen Schofield & Drive by Night – Tristen won the Wild West Songwriters Festival in 2023!
 * July 2 – Zeona Road – it’s the return of this great family band who bring so much fun and energy to their show!
 * July 9 – Vince Converse – you say you like BLUES? Well, Vince is quite familiar with Deadwood, and you will be familiar with him as he returns after playing last year’s Deadwood Jam!
 * July 16 – Johnny Hastings & Stillhouse Down – Johnny is on fire with his guitar these days, and his band puts together a great variety of sounds for you to just sit and enjoy!
 * July 23 – Dakota Country – you know them and you love them; our annual Days of 76′ show is always a blast!
 * July 30 – Arcana Kings – returning after debuting in Deadwood for the first time last year, it’s our pre-rally show, and they will turn it up with bagpipe included!
 * August 13 – High Rise – local flare with a new song on the air, you’ll always have a great night when this band is on stage!
 * August 20 – Surfin Safari – another annual show during Kool Deadwood Nites – get here early as the grounds fill up with everyone ready to enjoy the night!
 * August 27 – The Garage Boys – this high energy Las Vegas band makes their return to Deadwood, it’s so fun because there isn’t a request they can’t play!
