Events' Realm

Attention all dancers! URBAN-15 is on the look for experienced dancers for their 2025 season of performances! This Open Call is for people of all ages and gender identity who are interested in serious participation within URBAN-15’s performance ensemble. Free classes begin on Monday Jan 27, 2025 at 7 p.m. at URBAN-15 Studios (2500 S. Presa) and will cover the rhythmic movements that accompany URBAN-15’s Afro-Latin and experimental musical compositions. Dancers will be required to attend multiple classes before formally auditioning for a role within the ensemble.

Interested parties please be aware that URBAN-15 no longer participates in the yearly Fiesta Flambeau parades, but does regularly still take part in events such as Día de Los Muertos, Luminaria, Cochineala Nature & Art Series, Pollinator Festival, Global Water Dances, and many more performances. Dancers who are admitted into the ensemble will be expected to participate in multiple events per year and are asked to perform in illuminated costumes created by Artistic Director Cathartine Cisneros.

Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness. It is taught through kriyas, or sets, that strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, and purify the body while calming the mind.

Kundalini practice is an energetic practice that helps generate and transmute energy in a way that sheds light on imposed limitations and develops the intuitive mind.

Kriyas often use mudras (locks), pranayama (breath), asana (posture) and mantra to produce an elevated state of being and over time, an elevated state of consciousness.

Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya leads the orchestra in Ravel’s evocative Daphnis and Chloe Suite No. 2 and the composer’s glittering La Valse, two musical triumphs by one of the most accomplished orchestrators of all time. Violinist Richard Lin is soloist in Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, a fabulous showpiece by a French composer, sprinkled with Spanish flavor. Brazilian composer Clarice Assad’s Bonecos de Olinda, inspired by the massive papier-mâché puppets used during annual Carnival parades, completes the program.

Join MONSTERNOMICON for our live, improvised Dungeons & Dragons comedy show that has entertained audiences in monthly sold-out installments for over two years!

The show is a mix of improv comedy and real DnD rules complete with hit points, oversized dice rolled with our audience's help, and a Rules Lawyer on site to keep it all by the book. The show's tight-knit cast occupy the roles of adventurer, Dungeon Master, monster, and NPC to build out an absurd fantasy world with a loose canon and even looser morals.

The show is 18+ only, costs $15 (buy in advance, it always sells out!), and is BYOB.
