About this event

Singer-songwriter Jackie Venson’s version of the blues – a mix of R’n’B and psychedelic rock – has invigorated Austin’s music scene with its refreshingly electric sound. She became the first Black woman to be named “Best Guitarist” at the Austin Music Awards, and recently performed at Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcase at SXSW. Blending elements of synthpop, electronic, prog, rock, jazz, and blues, Venson’s blazing a path uniquely her own, filled with throbbing beats that recall decades past while lighting the way ahead.

Kam Franklin is a singer-songwriter, music producer, activist, writer, orator, model, visual artist, and actress from Houston, TX. Best known for her work with the gulf coast soul band, The Suffers, she began singing gospel music at the age of five. Kam is also known for her unique collaborations, including performances with Jon Batiste, Questlove, Chaka Khan, and Brandi Carlile.
